Taylor Slaughter

My love for the elderly started at a really young age due to my mother working at a nursing home. At one point, I was the youngest administrator in the State of Oklahoma. I grew up in the Grand Lake area and I started my career in nursing homes as a CNA in 2011 when I was in high school, and still hold a current CNA certification.

I gained experience as a CNA, CMA, Business Office Manager, Social Services Coordinator, & Staffing Coordinator in nursing homes over the next few years. 

In 2016, I obtained a Bachelor of Science at UCO in Edmond, OK, and became a Long Term Care Administrator a year later. 

I'm a mother to four children. Altruism and love is what drives my career in the nursing home community.

I was nominated, selected, and recognized at the state capital as The NextGen Under 30 winner, in the health care category; as well as a 2025 McKnights Women of Distinction Rising Star Honoree. I am a certified dementia practitioner and certified Alzheimer's disease and dementia care trainer. I take pride in being a nursing home administrator preceptor that trains other administrators for licensure. 

I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Gerontology at KSU and I am very blessed to have received this educational gift from Quail Ridge Living Center’s board members. 

Education is important to all of us at Quail Ridge & I’m so happy to say it is important to the owners as well.

Candace Knight
RN, BSN, DON, CDP

I started my health career journey as a CNA in 2009. I worked on a geriatric psychiatric unit that specialized in caring for patients living with Alzheimer's. 

After that I went to Afton Vo-Tech and obtained my LPN in 2012 and worked in the hospital setting for 4 years. 

I proceeded to further my career by obtaining my RN in 2016. At this time I was venturing out to a nursing home setting, where I fell in love. This is where I decided I needed to be. 

After obtaining my RN I decided to enroll at Oklahoma Wesleyan University and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. 

I have been the director of nursing at Quail Ridge since November 2019, and take great pride in keeping the facility running smoothly. I am also a certified infection preventionist.  

Dr. Harris
MD, Medical Director

Dr. Harris holds a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of AR, Little Rock and medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his residency in Family Medicine in Waco Texas, and became Board Certified in 2017.

Dr. Harris is a Christian man and you can see that in his everyday work with his residents here at Quail Ridge. He is very detailed in his visits with his residents and takes time to get to know them and build connections. He has great compassion for the elderly and we are proud to call him our Medical Director.

Patrick Martin
CPM, Nurse Practitioner

Patrick joined the Quail Ridge family in fall of 2023. He moved to the Siloam Springs area the same year after living in South Central Kansas for the past 10 years working at a critical access hospital in rural Barber County. Patrick loves the senior community and describes his philosophy of practice as 'a ministry, and an opportunity to treat patients the way I would want my family to be treated.

Patrick is a graduate of Newman University and Wichita State University and has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner since 2013. Patrick, his wife Audrey, and his 3 children, Harper, Jonah and Levi love Siloam Springs and the NWA area as a whole.  
Patrick grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia and is an avid fan of his beloved Virginia Tech Hokies, and can occasionally be found in a tree stand in the fall.
